PACMAN

Pac-Man, an iconic character in video game history, is a yellow circle-shaped character with a mouth. He must eat gumballs and bonuses (in the form of fruit, and a 5,000-point key) in a maze haunted by four ghosts. Four special pac-gums (super pac-gums) make ghosts vulnerable for a short time in which Pac-Man can eat them. The ghosts then turn blue and display an expression of fear signaled by small eyes and a broken line mouth and when a ghost gets eaten, its eyes return to the central maze room to return it to normal.

The original PACMAN game

The original PACMAN game includes 255 different mazes (the game was considered to go on forever, but the 256th level is unplayable due to a bug that drowns the right half of the level under a large cluster of symbols (see subsection Bug at the 256th level), and this bug comes from the fact that the number of levels was coded on a single byte). The character can take passages located on either side of the screen, producing a wraparound effect, causing him to reappear on the other side of it.
